I'm not totally sure what fortnight is, but I would suggest some of what others suggested...bartending, waitstaffing, selling on ebay. I've also had good experiences selling books/DVDs on Amazon.com.
You could also try putting yourself out there to people you know/their friends as a high-class handy man to help with painting projects, home remodels, etc.
Another way to earn some extra money is to do promotions work. There are a number of promotions companies out there that do in-store demonstrations, outdoor festivals, etc. You find a company, put your profile on their website (including a nice picture), and they start sending you emails for various jobs. If you can manage to break into it with persistence (It took me several months of responding to get booked initially b/c so many ppl already do that stuff), you could get regular work with an agency. Some agencies off the top of my head are Encore nationwide (hard to book with), Team Mktg, RPM event staffing, Pierce promotions...there are many others, depending on what area you live in.
