Go through the financial aid office at your institution...they can get you low or no interest rate loans. Plus, since they are in the business of looking out for you in the first place...they evaulate their lenders and should be able to tell you the benefits of each one.
I was stupid and called up Sallie Mae for a grad school loan and got a poor interest rate because I called them directly. Plus their service SUCKS! Left hand never knew what the right hand was doing...letters made no sense.
When I go back for my PhD I will use - CLC - College Loan Corporation...collegeloan.com because they are run by young people, their growth is fantastic....and how you ask??? They HANDS DOWN provide the BEST customer service I have ever seen a lender offer. I called them last month to praise one of their employees and I got a phone call THANKING ME and even was contacted by the company president. They only let the BEST employees help customers on the phone...
You say 'other bills'....if you're just replacing debt with new debt...you can't use student loans for that.

well Sallie Mae approves everyone,.. no matter how bad your credi tis as long as its your first time getting a loan, or you have made payments on your loan in the past,.. speak to the college that you are going to be attending,.. they can give you some phone number to call. |
