I need to make big money to pay something off. I'm 15. Help?
So I go to a high school were we get laptops. Well, they're loaned to us because we have to return them at the end of senior year. Anyway, my laptop got stolen and I have to pay roughly 1000 dollars.

I'm going to pay it on my own.

I haven't told my parents and I don't plan to: they'd kill me. 1000 dollars is a lot and I know it will be very hard for me to come up with that money in such a short time, at such a young age, and on my own, but I'm not giving up just yet.

Since I'm not 16 yet, the chances of me getting a job are low, so I was wondering if you had any ideas that would help me pay this off.

Help.

Thank You(:

Ask your neighbors to do work for them, babysit, and use whatever you had. If I were you though, I would ask your parents for a little bit of the money, or to talk to the school because like someone else says, they should be insured. Also, grocery stores, Rita's, and Chick-fil-a's hire @ 14 so you could work there. good luck...

The school should have insured the laptops. If it didn't, your parents' homeowners or renters insurance may cover it.

Talk to your parents about this. You will need their help with this situation. You shouldn't try to pay for it yourself since chances are extremely good that you won't be able to earn $1000 that you can dump into this.

If it was stolen, you are a crime victim, not somebody who did something wrong. Talk to your parents about it, file a police report, and work with school authorities to determine what the next steps are.

If the high school loan out laptops then they should be insured against theft, have u asked to see their insurance documents? have you filed the crime with the police to get a crime number? You need to tell your parents who can fight this on your behalf.

I say you should tell your parents; I mean, what are you gonna do when you have half a grand by the end of the year? I'm not saying they're not going to be angry with you, but at least you'll have the whole summer to pay it off; not just until the end of the year. But you should definitely see about theft insurance. As for this summer, there are many fast food establishments that offer jobs to 15-year-olds, or you could see if local places are hiring. For example, I'm applying for a job at a diner in my neighborhood. The pay isn't fantastic, but it's better than being cooped up in a Chic-fil-a all day.
