AnnualCreditReport.com provides consumers with the secure means to do so.
I suggest your credit report from only on of the reporting agencies, then 4 months later, check a different agency, then 4 months later, check the last one. So you'll be able to get a continues 4 month look at what might be appearing on your credit report.
And remember, its absolutely free with no subscriptions or cost. You can pay extra for scores, but you don't have to. |

In 2003 the government mandated that the 3 credit reporting agencies give out free credit reports each year. These agencies set up a site at http://www.annualcreditreport.com that is secure, free to use, and has no gimmicks (unlike freecreditreport.com...please don't go there).
If you are like dalton and are far too paranoid, then you can still go to this site and get the address/phone number so you can order them that way.

You can get one free from each credit reporting agency per year I believe.
Or, you can order them from www.experian.com, www.transunion.com, and www.equifax.com. Remember, all three of these agencies are used by different lenders, so you'll have to get all three reports since each one can contain different informaiton. |

There are some places that will provide you with all three credit reports for $19.95. However, before you go pay for it, how about getting it for free? :D
If you are recently unemployed, you can get a free credit report.
Two... If you have been denied credit you can request a free credit report within 30-60 days.
If you don't qualify for the freebie, at least you won't be pestered to join something, then later forget you did join and end up figuring that you've been paying $19.95 a month for 6 months without a clue. ;)
You can go directly to the credit reporting agencies online or call if you qualify. If you don't qualify for the freebie, you can buy a report.
This is why I would rather give you the phone information. You don't have to jump through their online hoops. Just give each one a call and they will tell you how to obtain the free report on the phone.
