Cut your bank cards in half
OR get a cash card so you can only take cash out of a machine. It will make you stop spending. |

The best thing you can do is open a savings account in your bank. Keep other cash in your current account for your requirements yet otherwise use a savings account and don't touch it. When you earn money put some of it into your current account yet switch some over to your savings account so you don't spend it.
Also, if you see certain clothes or devices you "must" have. just assure your self you don't need it. Impulse buying is the main cause of spending money. Realise the difference from need and want. And if you actually want the stuff you think you want. Eg. If you see a Perfume from a well known label at a discount price you'll think that it's great value and i HAVE TO GET IT! Well. no. When you buy it, you realise you already have tons of perfume and it was an obvious waste of money.
So just don't be stupid. |

Leave credit/debit cards at home when you go out, and only take what you need in cash.
Keep receipts and if you do change your mind ALWAYS take the item back (I am so guilty of not doing that!).
I'm trying to save also, I've been taking cash out of the ATM instead of just paying with my card each time, it makes you more conscious of what you're spending when you see it in note form.
Sell the things you no longer need/want on eBay. |

Get all your money as cash. Then, leave it at home. When you go out, take only $5 with you, so that if you get tempted, you can't spend all your money, only the money you have on you. That's harm minimisation.
Also, you need to have alternative things to do that don't involve spending money, like going for a walk, chatting on the internet, or maybe reading a book. Avoid the shops if you can help it, and only make planned visits to the stores, so that you can control your spending. |

rather than spend your hard earned wages , why don't you put some money away every month either on save as you earn , from you work place , if that is not possible than you really need to open an ISA account from your bank, where you have an account they will help you on this matter and also if i were you i would also have an pension scheme as well where you put some money on the side and this will help you in the long run when you decide to retaire.
good luck in what ever you decide |

You are a perfect candidate to join the Government, or the Public Sector. They love spending taxpayer money, and they don't have to earn it. |

I used to have the same problem you describe. I would spend all of my extra income on eating out, or a night on the town. One day I woke up, and realized that I should start saving this extra income. However, I knew as long as I had it in my possession, I would spend it.
So I decided to open a DRIP account. This way when i got my extra money, I would purchase stocks through my DRIP Plan and send the money away.
That was 22 years ago, and my DRIP Plan has grown tremendously. I am so thankful I opened it. You might consider this as an option.
Best of Luck |

You should spend only money on things that you need. |

Set up a standing order,to come out on pay day,to go into a saving account.Choose a reasonable amount ,that you can easily afford, maybe the equivalent of 2 pairs of shoes !
Check your wardrobe you may surprise yourself how much clothes you already have. And tell yourself you don't need another black top. |
