There are many banks offering free checking accounts and will even give you free checks initially. Open a new bank account at one of these banks (read the fine print about minimum balances) and deposit only the amount you want to pay plus any fee the bank may charge if you are below the minimum balances. Then pay by check.
If you pay by money order or cashier's check, and the payment is lost or not received for any reason, it will cost you time and money to have the money order or cashier's check traced before it is replaced. In the mean time, interest continues to accrue. A lost check can be stopped by phone and replaced by phone.
The routing number will be available on any account you pay by check whether by phone or mail.
Be polite, let them know you really don't like giving out your routing number. During the conversation, ask if it's possible to have your interest rate lowered. Once you've established a relationship with the operator, give the routing number as a gesture of cooperation. |

You can of course send a money order or official check from your bank.
I would be care though. Providing your routing number is not an issue you should be afraid of. In fact, you should be more worried that you owe Wells Fargo a decent sum of money. If you don't pay them back quickly, and they close your account, they can report you to a collection agency as well as to Chex Systems.
If they report you to Chex Systems it can affect your ability to open a new checking account at any other bank as well as affect the status of your current checking account. There is the possibility your current bank will close your current checking account because you are on Chex Systems. |

if wells fargo is in your town go make the payment personally or if you live in a different town then go buy a money order from allsups and mail it to them that way they dont know your account number or routing number. good luck hope i helped. |

Buy a money order or a pre-paid gift card with a major logo from the mall or your bank. The gift card will work like a credit card, but they won't be able to take more than the amount of money you put on the card. You can refill it the next time you wish to make a payment. |

Well, chances are if they want that then they are going to garnish the money from your account or they are trying to set up automatic payments since it sounds like you have an issue w/not paying bills. Wells Fargo isn't some "fly by night" company, so you can feel comfortable giving them this info. If you don't, you might be sent to collections soon. Just be prepared to have the money in your account when the due date rolls around or you're going to have fees piling up on you quick though. |

You can always send a money order to them. If you do not want to get money orders, you can go to the bank itself, and pay them cash. |

Have your bank issue a bank check/cashiers check to them. It is guaranteed payment, your bank shouldn't charge you for it, and it won't show any of your personal bank account information. |
