If you deposited a check thinking it was a real check, then you did not commit check fraud. If the bank cleared it then to me that is an indication that it is a real check. The bank is the one who should be able to tell yo if it is real. You got scammed, don't EVER PAY for a prize, or a JOB, in advance! They're always scams! Talk to a lawyer ASAP! |

(i assume you mean $400,000) if so, it sounds as though they are tricking you. you need to call your bank immediately and tell them you "accidentally" deposited this check. explain the situation to them and they will get their fraud dept. besides, anyone that has smaller amounts of money and then deposits this large sum is usually flagged and questioned. they will come and ask you where its from... |

I would probaly call a law firm and consult with a lawyer. but if you go down for bank fraud the people who sent the check is in a bigger mess. But call a lawyer and tell him what happen. |

You get a monstrous check in the mail from people you don't know, with a ridiculous processing fee, and you actually cashed it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Let's just hope you didn't send them the "processing fee!" Otherwise, if you quickly tell the bank about the fraud and that you were scammed, they won't do anythng to you and will check into the scam. |

This one of the oldest scams ever. You deposit a check - they then want you to write them a check for the "processing fees" they cash your check but then their check "bounces" and then of course so does yours and you are on the hook for $2980.00. Please remember this - NOBODY gives away something for nothing. No where - not on the internet not in your mail not anywhere. "Free" screen savers on the internet come loaded with spyware and adware - NOTHING is FREE! Ever! |
