I should shortly be inheriting about £200000.what is the best way of investing it ?

Medana
My advice to you is to seek the services of an Independant Financial Advisor who will offer you various options in investing the amount of money you are to inherit.
A lot of investment options carry higher interest rates than a bank or building society can offer.
Perhaps before you invest the inheritance, you could treat yourself to fulfill a dream which you probably never would have had the opportunity to do if you had not inherited the money.
Seek good advice and all will be well in your life !

For that much money, it'd be worth the time and expense to consult a professional investment manager. They'll give you better advice than some random people on the internet.

rbeeze1 I've always said you're the bestest person on here!
You're questions and answers are the best
I would be prepared to marry you (civil partnership if required) and suggest we move to California immediately.
Now then, just out of curiosity when exactly do you expect to receive the money?

Maybe, You should start your own buisness, so you could double the profit if you was young and looking for a easy life ahead of you.
But maybe if you already had a job that was steady and you was fine, pay off like morages and all your troubles then spend :)
Do something life changing with it maybe.

property...

Shop with a flat is good... You have lots of options... Some where to live a place to do business... or good rental value for your money..

If you get something in auction that needs some work and oyu put the work in your already up on your investment.. Some would just buy and sell but personally i think its best to have a cash cow to work from..

I presume this is not from someone in Nigeria, to whom you have to provide all your presonal information?

If not its not an online scam, then what's your risk assessment? If you don't mind losing some money in the short term, put it into stock or something volatile. Greatest gains and greatest losses...If you are not willing to lose money, or will need it soon (to by a house?!) then put it into CDs or money markets or something with a small gauranteed return that is ensured (in the US we have FDIC, not sure about what UK has).
