Mommy Drea | I transfered money from my savings to my checking 12 times in a month my bank charges $15 for every time you . |
transfer after the 6th time. so I was charge $90 just for transfering some of my money into another one of my accounts, isn't that ridiculous. I talked to numerous employees and they told me I couldn't get any of my money back. Isn't that greedy of the bank. |

I would definately change banks. There are too many banks out there that offer most services free (online banking, checks, transfers, even money orders), and would love to have your business. The best bet would be to literally shop around for a new bank. Check for any kind of hidden fees so this sort of thing doesnt happen again. Hope that helps a little. |

That's the standard for excessive activity. Check with other banks to see about their fees; if you find one with no transfer fees, change your account.
You also might want to think about depositing your money into your checking account first; or do larger transfers. Unless you have a huge amount in savings, you don't really earn that much interest.
Or look into an interest-earning checking account. |

It's important to read the rules and the fine print when you sign up for a bank account. You signed something when you opened your account that said you agreed to these rules. That was a contract, legally binding, that said that they could charge you for each transaction. Not all banks or accounts have the same rules. Many (such as the one I use) allow me unlimited transfers between my checking and savings accounts, because they were "linked" together when I opened them. If you'll need to do this type of transaction in the future, I'd suggest that you research other banks for accounts that allow for free transfers. Your bank may even have that kind of account, and if you ask them, you may be able to switch. |

You need to get a new bank or be better at anticipating your money needs so you do fewer larger transfers instead of many small ones. But, you can't blame the bank. This is what you agreed to when you opened your account. |

Transferring 12 times in one month suggests that you are pretty stupid and can't anticipate your spending and can't save. Why bother with savings when you are such a spender. It was your decision to use this bank. It was your decision to transfer moneys from savings to checking 12 times.
Wake up and smell the coffee. Changing banks isn't going to help. Managing your banking can. |

Changing banks may not solve the problem. There is some kind of federal regulation in place with regard to excessive transactions involving savings accounts. Most banks charge penalties when you make six or more transactions using your savings account. Do a search on 'savings accounts and excessive transactions' and you'll see what I mean. Maybe setting a budget is the best way to solve the problem and avoid the fees. |

Don't change from one bank to another. Go to a credit union! Find one that you qualify to join. You will be amazed at how much money you will save in a year. Have you ever heard the phrase "People Helping People"? That is the basic philosophy of every credit union.
Google credit unions in your home town or surrounding area and choose the one right for you. |

Find another bank quick! Are they insane! I had a bank do that to me and I cancelled them out right away. You deserve a free checking. |

Change banks. That sucks because you weren't aware that you could get a fee. You spoke to an employee but manybe you should go back and speak to the branch manager, if he/she doesn't help you then close both accounts on the spot. |
