Yes you will have a bad credit rating for 6 years. Noone will give you any credit for this length of time you will be lucky to get a basic bank account after 2 years..I 'm not condeming you for going bankrupt but why would you want to get into debt so soon? I would have thought the experience would have put you off for many years to come!!!

BEFORE YOU APPLY TO ANY OF THOSE GUYS. DO CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT. This will avoid any damages to your credit score.

You can't as you will have to rebuild your credit rating.....Maybe you should have curbed you're spending as I am sure there would have been a lot of disgruntled people that would have only got approx a penny in the pound......so learn from it for the sake of all the others trying to make a living....

I really don't know what to say to this. I've been made bankrupt myself, and believe me, once is more than enough for anyone. If you are already contemplating getting new loans and credit cards then you need some serious help. No reputable lender will give you a loan, which leaves you dealing with the more unreputable companies and sky-high interest rates. If you are living outside your means (and it sounds like you are) then you need to start talking to people now - starting with the Citizens Advice Bureaux who give wonderful free advice, and to nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand. I've learnt the hard way that credit is a terrible thing, and nothing makes me more upset than watching all those adverts on TV which keep on advertising them to the vunerable and giving credit without actually seeing whether or not you can afford it. It's a system that really needs stamping down on, as a lot of people are falling into the credit trap and often don't know how deep they are in it until it is too late. Getting a bankruptcy should have cleared your problems - not make you want to stack up new ones. I'm seriously worried for you.

An ex boyfriend of mine was discharged from bankruptcy and tried to get a mortgage, the only place he could find was The Royal Bank of Scotland but the interest rate he had to pay was 3 % higher.
