come acorss this all the time!
no problem what so ever....
Legally all the signatory needs to do is sign the cheque. All other details can be filled out by you!
The only thing you cannot do is alter anything the signatory has already filled out.
Think about big companies. their managers are not going o fill out the details, all they do is sign the cheque, and somebody else or a computer does the rest!!!!!!! |

Nope, you should be fine. I worked at a credit union. As long as the signature is valid, you're fine. |

yes its ok you can fill it in yourself |

Yes it's OK for you to do it |

As long as the amount is filled in and the check is signed, you can fill in who that check is payable to. |

Perfectly fine - although a little daft on the part of the cheque issuer |

Shouldnt be a problem. My Mum broke her wrist recently and I had to write all her cheques for her, although she did sign them very shakily! She spoke to the bank and advised what had happened and they were fine with it. |

You can fill in your name as long as the person signed it you can cash it. |

You can even type out cheques. One thing you must not do is try to alter the amount payable or the signature on the cheque. Filling out the Payee section on the cheque is acceptable.
I wrote a cheque out once on a scrap piece of paper, I put my sort code my account number on and the person to whom it was payable I dated it and signed it and put my printed name as it appears on the account. 5 days later it was cashed.
Guinness book of records will show that a farmer who was grieved by the Inland Revenue wrote a cheque out for 1 penny on the side of his cow. |

It should be okay to fill this detail in yourself. Use capital letters and the same ink the rest of the cheque was written in. The cheque should be signed and dated with amount written in letters and figures.
So long as the cheque isn't stolen or bogus, it should go through okay. Mind you you'll have to wait a few days before it clears, but be aware that some cheques can come back, months later, with "refer to payer". In other words, the cheque is no good. Banks make a habit out of this, you think you've got the money in your account and then months later they can take it out. Mind you, this practice happens on the rare occasion! |

Try to use the same colour ink though so it doesn't look too obvious. |
