The money does not belong to you so I would own up now as they will realise the mistake sooner or later and if you actually spend the money then it is technically theft and you could get done for it |

Make your bank fix it. If you know the money is not yours, they will take it back from you sooner or later, better it be sooner. |

Point it out to the bank as soon as possible. If not, or if you spend it, you can be charged with theft. |

I would defiantly ask your bank about it. If you use it and they notice the mistake I would think you would have to pay it back. |

Gee, I wish that would happen to me. If you know its not your money, you had better speak to the bank manager. The real owner of that money will definitely be missing it soon. |

If you know the money is not yours, you need to call the bank and find out what is going on. It may take a few days, but they WILL figure out the mistake and take the money back from your account. If you withdraw the money from your account, since it is not yours, you will be charged with theft and will probably end up with jail time. |

Dont use the money that doesnt belongs to you they will eventually realize the mistake. Therefore, wait a while and only use what is yours. If it's been a week then I would say call the bank and let them know. |

Regardless of what anyone may tell you...if thisis not your money you must NOT spend it.....it is not yours.
The bank at some point will realise their error and demand the money back and if you do not have it all they will prosecute you and they will win.
A few years ago you may remember this happened to a girl whi spent the money and the bank took her to court...she argued that it was not her fault and had given some away to family and spent some of it......she lost and went to prison.
Be very cautious please and remember they will find out and want it back as it is not your money.

You won't be able to touch it until it is cleared (which will take 4 working days) then you can either close the account and do a runner (never being able to get another account again due to the fact your name will have warning lights next to it) or own up at the bank and feel good about yourself. How would you feel if you was stopping a childrens charity donation from buying vital equipment? |

tell me the name of your bank i could do with that kind of luck at the moment, mine is red red red red no honestly i dont know but be careful they will take it back when they realise the mistake, there would be nothing to stop you drawing money out but dont you will end up paying it back |

Go to your bank and let them know. Some poor $8.00 an hr single mom, just trying to stay off welfare, teller might end up in BIG trouble.
Or! They may just have figured it out when they settled the Branch for the day.
Either way, you'll feel better that you did the right thing and you'll be receiving the BEST customer service in that branch from then on. |

If u doubt, u bring to the notice of the Banker. U specify the entry, u doubt. Even if the Banker says okey, ask for the details of the credit.In case he needs time to Check, give him sufficient time. In the meantime, if u need any money, u can withdraw the amount as per your expected balance. Wrongly credited amount in your account cant be yours , it is required to be refunded, as and when the mistake is located.
If u r walking on the road, u find some money/material, it may remain with u as long as nobody claims it, but the moment somebody claims it, u have return it to a bonafide person. |

Unless you earn huge amounts and that is what you normally see, do not spend it...
Who credited your account? Find out your receipts and from there find out if you can possibly lay claim to it.....
Find out the legality of it all. |

they did the same to me last year & then a few hours later I was minus £1 million.
aparently a trainee used the wrong id in head office. which meant he was not using the training data programme, but real data.
all my accounts were frozen & it took 3 months to get sorted & not even an apology from barclays. they just wanted to charge me for being overdrawn
As tempting as it is to spend it.
