1) Thanks for posting this question...it reminded me to pay my car payment (which I've been forgetting for the last few days, but it's not due for a few more).

2) A friend of mine has a calendar that she only uses for bills and stuff. At the beginning of the year, she goes through and marks everything on the appropriate date (e.g. credit card bill due on the 17th), and then checks it off after she pays it. She keeps it right next to her computer.

3) One last thing: try to get your payment due dates moved to the same day (or week). If the people you're paying won't do that, set a day of the month that YOU make your payments (some of them will be early). It will be easier than trying to remember 10 different payment dates.

It's a girl due 5/11/09
Sign up for automatic payments

Use online banking. I schedule my payments as soon as the bill comes. That way it can sit for 3 weeks waiting to be paid ON TIME.

get you a bill organizer to keep up with bills, when you get them go ahead and make the check out and put in envelope, get some post it notes and write the date that it should be mailed...NOT the due date on it. When you get ready to mail write the date you put in the mail on the outside of the envelope. Mark your calendar with reminders of when they are due. Once you get in the habit it will be easier to remember. You may want to see if your bills can be set up to be paid online as well. If you are like me you check your email quicker than the mailbox anyway. Good Luck...On to Good Credit!

Pay each bill as soon as it comes in.

Try online banking. Best thing ever! Within minutes all the bills are paid. You can keep track of what has not been paid and no need for stamps. What used to be a monthly chore for me is now done in a few minutes.

setup a budget and use a calendar to determine which bills need to be paid on a given day.

i'm bad with paying bills too. here is what i honestly do. anything that stays the same, like insurance, goes automatic from online bill pay. things that change like cell, electric. when the bill comes i take it right inside to a spot next to the computer. there i have the stamps, pen, and a check book. i do this first before i look at any other mail. then i put it on the floor right in front of the door. (mail box is a walk) next time i go out, i have to step over it to go, so i pick it up and drop it in the mail box on my drive out. the trick is, the minute you see the bill, pay it. there is no need to wait till it is due, unless you do not have the $.

What I do is get those pocket calendars. (The ones you get on the dollar store which have ugly looking animals)
Jot down on the side ALL THE BILLS and the amount due:
Light
50
Cell
150
House
1000
You get the deal!

Then on the dates of the calendar put
On the 12th Light due
Do that and post the date due of the item inthe entire calendar so you NEVER forget

IN addition you can also do online banking automaric payments, etc

Go to your bank with copies of all of your bills. Ask the manager to set up your account so that all the bills get paid automatically, every month.

Get a checking account with billpay option. If you have the money to pay your bills, this is an easy way to keep yourself from forgetting to pay something.

Try online/telephone banking or have the company do automatic withdrawals on certain days. Every morning on payday, I wake up a bit earlier and pay my bills online.

Oh gosh, I know how you feel, but I am usually on top of things and I noticed today I was 1 day late on my CC bill and got charged $39 and my interest went up. I have never been late before. My suggestion is to use a calender and write the bills you will pay into every friday. Get a blank sheet of paper. Write down how much money you will have on pay day and what bills are due, do that for the next 4 weeks.

I agree with the posters who suggested the calendar. I have a small personal calendar that I keep in my desk. Each time I receive a bill, I write down who and the amount I need to pay in the space on the Friday that pay period falls on (nearest to the due date), so I can check off each bill I've paid after I've sent it out ... I try to allow at least seven days for the mail process. Also, keep all your bills together in a convenient place, even if you just put them in a brown paper bag. This way you don't have to search for them. After you've paid a bill, throw the envelope, etc,. away and rubber band it with the other bills you've paid ... you can keep a bundle for each month. That way, it's easy to go back to a previous bill if you have a dispute. You can also file them away if you have a filing cabinet.

Go to a financial counselor, they will set up your bills and tell you how you can pay them off and start saving. The earlier you control you spending, the less you will be in debt.

Get a planner and record dtes and times and get it together. Or set up auto pay.

Go auto pay, it's great, they send you a bill just like always, e or snail, your choice and then just deduct it from your checking account. I am with Wells Fargo right now but all banks offer this service. No freakin' stamps, no trip to post, no ball point pens that don't work, no writing checks, no keeping track on canceled checks, you can get everything on your computer. This is the closest I have ever seen that is really automatic.

Give Blood
I had the same problem until I got Bill Pay (online) through my bank. Now my major payments are taken from my account and paid for me. They are never late now.

why dont you try writing up your bills and befor you get your money right down what you have to pay

Mann up, you made those bills now pay them. Prioritize your life and before you know it, you are ahead. It's called maturity.
