♦ Depends on your state laws, and what action the credit card company can legally take... |

You screwed yourself over, so no lawyer would probably want to take your case. why don't you just pay off your debt? It's YOUR problem. |

A lawyer can not do anything for you.
If it goes to court all they will do is garnish your wages, not to exceed 25% of your take home. Even less in some states.

Credit card debt is much harder to prove in court than may first meet the eye. Hire a lawyer that specializes in credit debt and you will get relief. |

If you're being sued, obviously you do not have the money to satisfy your debt. The best thing to do is either consolidate (which really isn't good) or file bankruptcy |

it would be best that you have an attorney,
but it's not required. |

You probably would depending on how much money you spent. If it's alot that you can't pay off than you should get a lawyer to help you out so you won't have to pay as much. |

don't really understand the question...how can you be sued for high credit card debt?....most people seem to have high credit card debt...they don't get sued for using their credit card....the card issuers establish your interest rate and credit limit and encourage you to charge it up to the max...who would be suing you?....not the people who issued the card...is there more to this story? |

No, It will just reflect badly on Your credit. The collection company uses the threat of a lawsuit all the time but there's nothing that they can do about it except report it to the credit bureau. |

It depends on who is suing you. But I think if you pay a certain amount a month, there is nothing they can do. If its the credit card company probably not, just pay a small amount. If its another person suing you then I would say, maybe get one to see what you can do. Hope this helps. |
