If the bank that you owe the money to didn't report you to Chexsystems then YES you can open an account at another bank....however 6 months is a while and you would have already been reported so contact Chexsystems
If they did report you then you're in bad shape because most banks will not allow someone in Chexsystems to open an account with them for the fear of a potential loss

Yes you can. Chase bank lost a check of mine, failed to deposit it into my account, which cause overdraft fees etc. And no one has been helpful to resolve the matter. They keep sending me bills for the money I "owe" them but really they owe me. I opened an account at another bank with no trouble. |

You can make as much as you want but It will get confusing were to put your money and maybe forget your pin so If you are opening another account I would open about 2 or 3 accounts.

It depends on what bank and how much you owe. If it goes to collections then another bank may or may not allow you to set up another account with them. The only way to know is to go to the bank you wish to open an account with, and try and see if they allow it. If so, you're in. If not, you will have to wait a year before signing up with a new bank. Try and see if you can do a payment plan with the bank you owe money to, that way it could show up on your credit report as a plus rather than a minus. |

some banks will check your credit and if that is on there they will not but some do not and will allow you. You should pay off one debt before getting into more debt. |

Yes, you can open up an account at every bank. BUT you will still owe the old bank that money. And they will put it on your credit report. hope this helps. |
