no everything will be on your credit for at least 7 years, some can even stay as long as 10...however it will show as paid and that is better than nothing....a little down the road try to get a low credit card, use it to pay your bills then take the money you use to pay bills with and pay it off every month, a year or two of that will help get you started on the right track...don't feel bad, I'm in the same position right now b/c of a divorce, its sucks but it takes time and patience to get out of debt |

no need to do all that...just pay your debts.
If you're asking will you create a "new" credit report file...the answer is "no"...you are listed under your name and SS number. |

Dont cancel the credit cards, just cut them up. Open credit looks good. Shows you can keep a card without going crazy. |

Having debts is not an issue on a credit file - its how you handle them which counts. If you've always paid on time, and have never had a red letter then you'll be okay. In actual fact, it tells the lenders that you are responsible.
Entries stay on your credit file for more than three years (I think its something in the region of six). |

On your credit file addresses are linked for up to ten years,my file still shows me linked to my parents address and I have not lived there for 12 years.
Your credit file is against you,not your address,any defaults or problems will still show on your account for five years.
So in short no,you cannot clear your credit file in three years !

if you have debts they will never go away until you pay them off.
And different credit companys do different thing
like something was put on my credit that wasnt even mine and so I got it taken off I even got a letter in the mail saying that they had taken it off but though another agency it was still on there so there is different stuff for all of them. |
