If I was to borrow £10,000 and go to, let's say South East Asia for a year and then settle in another EU country, how easily would I be found? Will anyone even bother to track me down?

Nah, I reckon you'd get away with it. They are not going to spend the money and resources to track you down for 10k. Wouldn't be worth it to them. |

I suppose if you never came back you might be able to pull it off. Keep in mind that nit paying off debts will not land you in jail. But fraud or theft (which you are speaking of doing) can land you in jail if caught. |

I don't think they would find you. 10K is quite a small amount, probably not worth their while looking for you. Give it a go and let us know how you get on! Banks are robbers anyway, so good luck to you. |

i wouldnt rick it. your entire life would be ruined if you did.
they would probs catch you as you left at the airport, or do a raid thing in the middle of the night when you think your safe. and 10k wont last you long. you cannot register your name for a job cos they will realise its you so 10k wont last you a lifetime mate |

A bank wouldnt bother for too long. After about six months it'll just end up in collections and hurt your credit score. Now if your talking about a loan shark, then you'll have to watch your back forever if you dont pay them back. |

It would be very difficult to hide because you would stand out as stranger to the local people. Fugitives often forget this, and that is why they are found very quickly.....usually.
There exceptions but you need a lot of friends to cover for you.

well im sure you would have to withdraw the cash and close your bank account then every bank would black list you so you wouldnt be able to get an account then every employer that you try to work with cant pay you as they pay by bank transfer.
I wouldnt feel like walking around with 10000 in my pocket or stuffed in my sock draw either
There are people that rob banks and end up getting caught why do you with a genuine identity and reliance on the financial system (which may i add are now multinational companies) think your in any better position.
If you wanted to do it you would have to live gypsy. good luck with that.
