if you have proper ID, most banks would say yes

If you are 18, yes. You have to cash it at her bank.

You will be better off to void that check and write one to yourself. Be sure to bring state ID with Pic.

Yes I believe you can.

You have to endorse it as well since you will be cashing it for her.

Make sure you write your account number on it too.

Hope this helps.

God Bless....

stickymongoose
If it's already endorsed, then there shouldn't be any problem. It would probably depend upon the teller, though.

Lately, banks require that you have an account at her bank and that she shows up to reveal her ID at the same time, so you are out of luck, kid...

catwomanmeeeeow
Yes. That's what endorsing is for.

Unless it has two lines drawn across the upper left corner. That means only the person to whom the check is made out to can cash it.

missycares
For your mom to do that she would have to sign the back pay to (your name) and then sign her own. You would then have to endorse your own name under her endorsement. But and it's a big but I'd check with the place you intend trying to cash it at. Most stores don't even take two party checks anymore because of the chance of it being bad. Plus a lot of banks that use to do this are not accepting these anymore.

My best advice is for your mom to have you deposit into her bank account if she has one. Most banks will let anyone do that for someone else. Otherwise you really need to ask where you want to cash it their policies.

Yes of course but it cannot be an account payee cheque

yourfab_girl
You can cash as long as it has a sign from her at the back, bring at least 2 I.D. and also some banks need authorization letter from your mom - authorizing you to cash the check under her name

not if the check is made out to only her

Yes, you can cash it if you have an account and you counter sign the back.
