accept the circumstances and go with it.
it's certainly not the end of the world - many people who have been bankrupted end up just fine later on.
i work in the finance industry and occasionally deal with people who are bankrupted. it seems to me the worst thing about it is the stigma associated with it, that's all. if it means you get to write off a bunch of debts and start over, then this may be cutting your losses. |

Get in touch with a debt councillor, might be able to help you sort yourself out...have you put your head in the sand....get in touch with your creditor/s and offer to pay them something...many will be grateful for something rather than nothing...sit down and try and work out a realistic plan... |

if you have no assetts then they are unlikely to make you bankrupt for 1 simple reason.
if you go bankrupt with no assetts then they get nothing.
if you do something like an IVA then they at least get something.
unless they know for definate that you have assetts then they are not going to legally close off any chance they have of getting at least something from you. |

Few points...
1) Yahoo answers is not reallly the place to find comprehensive advice about actually serious issues. Speak to someone in the know! Try these first http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/ if you want someone on the end of the phone now, but (as everyone above says)
2) The Citizen's Advice Beurea is here for exactly these sorts of issues (you pay taxes to have it - so use it!). They have their online section on debt: http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/nireland/life/debt/help_with_debt.htm but this sounds serious enough to warrant going in and speaking to someone face to face.
3) Being bankrupt is certainly not the end of the world, and means something very different today than it did 50 years ago. People are frequently doing this voluntarily as a way of managing debt! I am not advocating it unless its absolutely necessary, but its not going to destroy your life - and might resolve your financial situation. You may even be able to get credit again before long.
4) Good luck! I would imagine asking for help is a big step in sorting this out, hopefully you are half way there now. |

To be honest go bankrupt at least it would be on your terms . My relative did it through no fault of her own.Firms kept piling on the charges and interest and requesting higher payments which she couldn't pay.The worst thing that happens you lose all your saving and bank accounts. But after 12 months of being discharged you will get a basic bank account. What you will get is peace of mind.In to-days society there is no stigma to bankruptcy if anything it will give you peace of mind.Your credit status will be affected for 6 years but a bad debtor faces the same problem after all the years of struggling to pay the debts.Good luck on whatever you decide to do. |

Please speak to someone, try the citizens advice bureau - they have offices and a website - I think you should make an appointment to speak to someone there - they will know how to help you. I think you can get something called an IVA, but Im not too sure what it is. please speak to someone you can trust for emotional support. Yes it will take a lot to sort out, but its never worth killing yourself over, I'm skint but im ok! good luck mate. chin up! |

If you are a sole trader and have no assets, let them make you bankrupt. It will cost you nothing. On the other hand if you have some assets that they can levy on, I suggest that you make an offer of payment . |

Financial problems certainly aren't worth killing yourself over. There are plenty of options open to you.
Go and seek advice from the citizens advice bureau.
Don't worry about it, and good luck. |

If you have no assets or money then there is little point in them bankrupting you other than revenge.
Have you offered to pay them back over a period of time. |

Declare your self Bank rupt, And dont worry, you shant get sympathy from me!!!!
Look on the bright side, it is only money!! you have friends and family that will help you through it, you live in a country that will put you in a bedsit at least so you are not homeless. You are healthy!! There are alot of people alot worse off. Dont even think about killing yourself. How destructive would that be for your poor family and friends, they will think its thier fault and they could have helped more.
It really isnt the end of the world!! chin up!!! and you'll emerge from the other side of this problem unscathed.
x good luck in the future x |

If you cannot solve the issue or get out of the situation, do what works for you. File bankruptcy if this will free you of the burden(s). Consider this, when you file Bankruptcy you will scar your credit for 7 years. This means any major purchases during this time period will only cost you more due to a higher rate. So, get your other affairs in order and plan out the 7 years financially. Store some cash away (regardless of how little it is) and get rid of this burden on your back. They are a big company, they do not care what they are causing or creating for the little people. Do what you HAVE to do. I do not condone filing Bankruptcy but sometimes it is the best option. |

Don't panic just yet, are they just starting to make these threats if so you still have time before the wheels kick in.
If you have no assets then you have little to worry about, as there is little to take from you.
You should probably seek advise through debt line or the citizens advise bureau.
DO NOT GO TO ONE OF THE DEBT CONCILIATION COMPANY'S THEY WILL MAKE IT WORSE IN THE LONG TERM! |
