No you shouldn't keep it. The cashiers actually have the money taken out of their checks when they do that.

This actually happened to us once, and we took the money back. The cashier was very grateful.

It wasn't our money, we didn't want to profit by her error.

No. It was a mistake and it is not yours to keep.

It's when things like this happen that you can tell if someone's mama raised them right or not.

mama did a good job = you call and then return the money

mama did a bad job = you keep what isn't yours

It's not a "gift from God". The teller could lose their job over this or even have the money come out of their check. If you find a $100 bill in the middle of an empty field with no one around for miles, THAT'S a gift from God.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Give it back.

No, Please, the person made a mistake and may have to pay for it out of her/his own pocket. That person must work for a living, like most of us, and may have children at home that will need that money for food, etc. Please don't keep it, it would be dishonest and someday may come back to haunt you, but by giving it back, you WILL someday be Blessed for it. God Bless.

Alessandro
no, that's not your money!

NO This could cause the person cashing your check to lose their job. And if you cash it there often it is better to return it and establish a good relationship with the place.

Nope, take it back. You'll feel much better really.

I am so glad most everybody here inclines to do the right thing.

Bravo all ! Good show !.

Please _DO_give it back.

Even from a strictly self-serving motive, I can assure you from experience that the "multi-level" long-haul benefits (*) of doing the right thing are far and away more enduring and valuable than the deceitful satisfaction from momentary greed.

Sixty-two. Been around, Trust me on this one, okay ?

(*) Dare I call them blessings ? Others say karma. Okay.

If you even have to ask, you already know the answer. Your conscience is telling you that it's wrong. You could even get some one fired for your dishonesty. Wouldn't YOU want some one to be honest if the shoe was on the other foot?

Phigmentâ„¢ is Back
I'd say No. I've even argued with store clerks that wouldn't believe the mad a mistake in my favor, trying to give them their money back.
If you don't I believe Karma will get you.

No you should keep it, Take it back show to them you are responsible person over there over sight.
What you get by keeping it, is guilty feeling .
The person that gave you to much back will have to pay for it out of their own wages.

its a moral choice isnt it? God is testing you as He tests everyone. The cashier made a mistake and will have to answer for it. that might mean paying for it out of their pocket and/or losing their job. put yourself in that person's place. What would You want someone to do if you had made a mistake. You already know the answer to this question dont give in to the darkside.

KC
No it was a mistake and it is not yours. The person could get in a lot of trouble and if you were in the same positon you would want the person to return it.

No but I would, they charge you and everybody else for their services and if they kept your money you'd have a heck of a time getting it from them
