5this is how you do it: (roughly)
£20,000 x 0.78 (this is paye + ni) = £15,600
15,600/ 12 (months) = £1300 per month
EDIT ____
1. To work out whether you need pounds or dollars use a bit of common sense!!! The question askers name is Miss CelticFC
So presumably she supports Celtic in Scotland which uses POUNDS!!!!
2. Donald S - TRY READING THE QUESTION,
she wants to know the figure after tax - unless of course the USA has 0% tax!!! |

I always allow roughly 25% for tax and NI.
So £20000 - 25% = £15000
£15000 / 12 = £1250
Rubbish eh? |

it depends on your tax code.
assuming you are a single person your tax code is probably 600L or thereabout so you can earn about £6,000 before you pay tax.
so you will pay 20% tax on £14,000 which is £2,800.
you will also pay national insurance, which as about 11% on anything above £90 per week (£4,680 per year) so that is 11% of £15,320 which is 1685.
so your stops will be £2,800+£1,685 = £4,485 per year, leaving you with £15,515 which is a monthly take home of approx £1,293.
of course you will have to deduct any pension contributions from this. |

I earn about 20k before taxes, and my bring-home pay every month is right around $1300. It all depends on your taxes & stuff. |

nobody can answer this question unless we know where you live. |

It depends on your marital status, local taxes and benefits but anything over $1,000 per month is gravy. |

This question appears is ALL English speaking countries YA serves. A correct answer requires knowing which country you are in. Your GROSS will be about 1,666/month. |

$20,000.00 divided by 12 (months in a year) is $16,666.67 per month.
Stop being clueless and helpless, and LEARN how to calculate this or ask the payroll dept. where you work. Good luck. |
