If you are being serious Do It Kid, I left over 6 years ago and no problems with any of the above mentioned suggestions as to what might happen.

The credit agencies will hunt you down where eveer you go and they will catch you eventually. Try to sort out by facing your debt not running away you will find the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) usful. Ring them up first make an apponitment as they are very busy. Take all your bills and try to work out what you need to live on as well as everyday utility bills (water, electric gas), travel, phone bills absolutly everything even clothes etc. they will help you do this they will on yourbehalf get in touch with your debtors and work out what you can pay back realistically. Debt has had people commit suicide over dont let it take hold of you deal with it ASP. Nothing so depressing as debt and I am sure there are people with so much debt you would never believe would be. You must have a lot of worry to think of running away and changing your name, so please do yourself a big favour and sort it out today is not too soon and see the worry lift from your life. |

I'm not sure what country you are from or what a a national insurance number is but if it's anything like a social security number in the U.S. then yes. In the U.S. everything you do (well almost everything) is tracked by that number. As soon as you sign up for something using your number (financing or what not) it reports to a credit agency along with basic info about you and in the u.s. there are only 3 major agencies so chances are they will find you eventually, although it may take awhile. |

Yes the biggest mistake to think. You cant change your social security. The lenders can find in a lot of ways. even just be your cell phone number. or any little information.I know its hard, have been there and seen it, Prayer helps alot and take one step at a time and you will be o.k. |

Firstly, the Department for Works and Pensions DO NOT give out National Insurance numbers to anyone, staff are trained to be aware of debt collectors and Private Detectives trying to obtain NI numbers in order to trace someone. Your creditors will be able to track anyone down. If you have used any form of credit even if you have say even married and changed your name they can do a credit check and find your new address. It sounds like you have some problems. It is not a good idean to run and hide, seek advice from a debt advisory agency, their numbers are in the phone book, you do not have to give your real name just tell them your problems. Advice is free. You could be brave and ask to see an advisor with your bank. Be very careful about taking out a bridging loan with obne of these companies that advertise on the tv all the time. The interest is very high, the celebs who speak for these companies should be ashamed of making money over someone elses misery. You will get through this but not by running away, seek help and I truely hope you do. Ignore some of the answers on here, you know the ones I mean, they think they are being funny, NOT. |

How much will it cost to move and change your name? If you have debts of £15,000.00 or over you can apply to go bankrupt cost about £275.00,and you are debt free in 6 years. |

it is not a breach of data protection if a relivent form of identification is relesed to find you if the creditors cad prove that you owe the money then they have every right in law to relevent information. Also if they are a decent credit broker they will already have your NI number if they are a loan shark then you are in real trouble if you run out on a debt to them. So you piece of dirt pay your debts like you ought to and if you dont I hope the loan shark sends the boys round have a good day |

The best bet unfortunately is to move to a different country. I personally use 2 computer programmes to track people. All it takes is for that person to sign on, or use a credit card etc within the last 3 months. The use of your NINO is perfectly legal.
If you've moved country and the debt isn't for that much, it'll just get written off. They're not going to bother to get in touch with the relevant bailiffs/credit people in a different country for the sake of a few hundred quid.
You might be able to move back, but you'd probably have to use a new name etc. |

Pay your bills like everyone else has to, I struggle tremendously to do the right, honest thing by others.
If you move country a visa alert can be issued and your future travelling can be severely curtailed (and you run the risk of being caught, handcuffed etc when tracked down if you try to travel).
They WILL catch you, they're not idiots. There's always a paper trail. I hope they do, cos your irresponsibility and greed will disadvantage some honest person who has worked for "free" for you, you dishonest piece of scum.
