an old saying.......
If you lend a friend £100 and you never see that friend again, then thats £100 well spent - kiss them and the money goodbye
A tough lesson to learn - never a lender or a borrower be ! |

Never mix business with pleasure. Typical example any money you lend to a friend or family think of as a gift and a bonus if you get it back. You could file a claim form on line (www.moneyclaimonline.co.uk I think)but it really is not worth the bother and will cost you extra in court fees. Even if you get a judgement, if they decide to ignore this you then have to instruct baliffs which costs more money and then if they own nothing of value you still wont see a penny. |

This happened to me once and when i asked for it back (£200) my "mate" got realy angry and said i gave it to him?. I had to forget about the money but i was hurt that he did that to me. we didnt speak after that and I realised later on that he would have done it to anyone and probably did.
I recently heard he was in prison for stabbing someone! so thank god he took my money and we had a small argument that stopped us speaking! that could have been me( |

Cant take them to a small claims because law does not recognise an agreement as valid when made in a social context (between family/ friends etc)
Unless you can prove that you intended the loan to be legally binding eg an agreement drawn up and signed by you both outlining your terms and conditions |

Hi if they dont pay it back and they wont talk to you well what goes around comes around cause the next time it happens it will happen to them. And i would not ask for the money its not worth geting hurt over it id let them go and not do it again learn from your mistakes have a great day take care! |

Really difficult situation.
I would approach them about it but in a friendly way as though you are encouraging them to explain why they haven't paid you back yet, not just pressurising them.
Suggest a repayment plan, like regular installments and keep a record of it.
Good luck, I would expect they are actually feeling awkward. Some people think they can ignore a problem and it will go away. |

Kiss your money goodbye and not lend them anymore... |

I would let it go and chalk it up to a lesson learned = Dont lend money. This is a reflection of your x-mates integrity. Even if they cant afford to pay you back now, they should at least communicate that to you and offer to pay a bit at a time if not all at once. |
