First things first, pay off everything I have ever owed money on, including giving my parents a good chunk of it just for putting up with me for all those years. :) After that, its northbound for me, buying a ranch somewhere in northern Idaho or Montana. I have been raising and training horses since I was a teenager, and I would want nothing more to live in the middle of nowhere and chase cows on my ponies. :) Oh, and I would buy me a big pretty truck....probably a Chevy Duramax 3500 super duty with the Allison tranny, charcoal grey, probably 36" tires with at least a 4, maybe 5" lift. And lots of chrome!! and of course a chip, gauges, 5" exhast minimum....just a few things i want... :) |

I'll buy a couple of houses for my family and friends, I will have 2 houses built for my self, one in Richmond, VA, and the other in the mountains of Virginia. I'll get a couple of cars not too many, and retire with the rest of money. Of course some will be given to charity and research for the cure to breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.
Most of the people you hear of that won the lottery file for bankruptcy after a year or so. This is because they spend all the money on fancy cars & houses. They do not realize that a $1'000'000.00 home will cost some more in taxes, utilities and maintenance. Same with cars, they need to maintained and taken care of, plus they also add to the property tax.
So when they have 12 expensive sports cars, and a $3'000'000.00 house, they will have a to pay a whole lot of money every year to maintain and keep owning the property. But they keep on spending the money while it is slipping away, eventually they go into debt, sometimes in the millions, and file for bankruptcy.
So I will buy and build small houses, buy a few cars and hire an accountant to help me keep the money I have. |

Several houses for a children's home in Honduras, which is planning on being a "city of children"; I would equip a clinic for them, and help them establish trade schools for those children who are not finding the academic side at all interesting. I would also buy them a bus, and a smaller vehicle, the first for taking kids in to school in town, etc., and the second for trips for the staff, and emergencies.
I would also set up a fun to be sure the kids were never lacking in healthy food. And another fund to raise the salaries of the staff there.
I think with the rest of the money I would consider using some of it to lobby the Canadian government so they would require certification of all importers that they are treating their labor properly. (I don't call $30 per week for workers on a banana plantation, and $50 per week in a textile factory proper treatment). |

I would donate 1 to 2 million of it to the down syndrome association, in the name of my sister adown syndrome.
than i d give a million to a school just for down syndromes to help them have a great time and learn all the same, while living in the real world.
than i d pay off my college loans, pay for my grad school in panama.
give a million to my dad to start off his new company.
buy a nice apartment, some cool stuff, some books, puzzles for my dad.
pay my sister's college. (my dad pays our first year and than he says we need to learn responsability so he makes us pay the last 3).
pay my sisters nursing school
pay for my dad, mom, and sister to travel a bit and than build there houses in costa rica on our property there.
pay for my younger sister ( the down syndrome) to go to the best school for her.
buy my mom her dream house, or what she wants.
pay some of my parents bills for them.
and of course leave a decent amount for me to save, and keep to do what i want with it, most likely shop for clothes. lol.. |

donate a % of it among various christian organizations, as that's what you should do when you come into money like that - it's never by accident you know! after that with what I kept - i'm a single parent so logic sets in - first - i'd secure my son's college education. then i'd buy us a house in va bch near my sister and heck, i'd pay off my sisters house too - then i'd buy a car that didn't break down every other week - then i'd sit back and be scared that so much was going RIGHT that something big was surely going to go WRONG! |
