If you found a bag of money worth $65,000, would you keep it or return it?
Im not sure what I would do.

applecrisp
Even though it would be hard, I would give it back. What goes around comes around.

Chris
I completely agree with applecrisp. What goes around comes around. It could have been an old lady's life savings and she misplaced it. I couldn't live with myself if I found out it was something like that.

slimdude142
Only if no one claims the money, then it's all mine!!!

Judy1
I'd turn it in without even thinking about it.

ANJANETTE C
Keep or return it? Hum...tough to answer.
But then I think return it. Return it to who? The police. Sure why not? I guarantee the amount reported missing will not be $65,000. Subtract about $15,000 and there will be a report for $50,000 found money.
Plus there is no way to trace who it belongs to. That little old lady, the mother of six, the stock broker, or who ever.
I saw a cartoon on TV where a boy found a dollar. He said "finders keepers". His grandma told him he should think about the person who lost it. If it was him wouldn't he want his money back? The little boy thought 'yes I would'. But here is the funny part...........the grandma suggested the boy ask, loudly, 'did anyone lose a one dollar bill?' three times. If no one answers then it is his to keep. LOL!!!!!!!! Okay so say I find that bag of money. I would say loudly did anyone just lose a bag of money.....three times. Does this really mean the person who replied yes is really the owner?
Okay then keep it. My conscious would kick my *** every day and night. About $35,000 would pay off all my debts and obligations. It would definitely make my day. But what is the repercussion? It might not happen immediately. But in the near future a boomerang will hit me in the ***, really hard! Like WHAM!
I think the best answer is to not find it. Keep walking! I do not think I need to mess with that cookie jar.

That's the problem with human nature, everybody wants something for free. I happen to have lost a large sum of money and it was never returned, It didn't surprise me, but I was a little disappointed with humanity for awhile. I would indeed return it. Maybe everybody has a price, maybe not, but mine would certainly be higher than 65K.

Stephanie M
Even though I would want to keep it, my conscience would get the best of me. I would turn it in. Think about it, what if you lost that much money.

If I was sure that no one saw me and that there was no chance of getting caught, I would keep it.

If I knew the money belonged to someone due to criminal reasons, I'd keep it. If I knew it belonged to someone legitimately, I'd return it. If I didn't know, I'd return it.

It depends on the situation; who does the money belong to, does anyone know you found it, etc.

I'm not going to give $65,000 back to a known drugdealer... and thats probably going to be the type of person who goes around with $65,000 in a bag... So I'd probably keep it.

I read that too.

I would slowly pay off my house over 24-months.
