True story - I found a wallet in a club once and it had like £200 pounds in it and against all my friends wishes i handed it to the staff members there (although they probbaly stole the money themsleves)

I have found wallets and purses before.
I have tried to return them as found. Either by tracking down the info inside or turning it over to a lost & found or police.
Most people are happy and often feel obligated to give a small reward.
Although there was one time that I found a purse while doing a city cleanup project off the side of the highway. Someone had left it on top of her car and it had fallen off on a curve. She was actually quite angry at me for not finding it sooner. - go figure! |

I would have given it back. I lost my purse once with quite a substantial amount of money in it.
After a month or so, the police called me and returned my purse to me. I had MOST of my money back. I think the person took a £50 from me and gave it to the police.....
I never knew who he/she was....but I am grateful for the return of my purse....though I would have rather preferred that the person gave his/her name and they can have my thanks and a little reward....than taking money from my purse as a reward....
So I would have given back fully....I wouldn't want to do something to others than I wouldn't want done to myself.. =) Karma, I'll say |

The indentity stuff is more of a loss than the cash is.
I might keep the cash and send the wallet to you, it would depend in how broke I was at the time.
But I know how hard it is to replace missing ID and plastic..
