OK.. this is my time to start dreaming...
1. Pay off all mine, my fiance, and my mums debts/loans/student loans etc...
2. Buy myself a car, something economical, good for the environment, 2 doors, nothing too flash
3. Buy my fiance his Vauxhall Tiager(sp?) and my mum a BMW 4x4
4. Buy a house worth £300,000
5. Treat my family and godchildren
6. Pay off the wedding
7. Take my fiance to New York for his birthday
8. Give £20,000 to charity
9. Open a children's boutique in town called Trendy Wendy
Whatever i have left i would put into a savings account.. and work as a manager in the shop.. |

Doing the Right Thing

I live in USA, so 1 million british pounds would equal to about 2 million US dollars.
1) Put it all into my online savings account earning 5.05 APY first.
2) Invest $333/month into my Roth IRA.
3) I would pay off my only debt, the student loan. ($10,000)
4) Hire a contractor to remodel my parent's home. ($30,000)
5) Buy myself a home. ($400,000).
6) Buy the most expensive PC out there, which is Alienware ($8000)
7) Buy new clothes, some suits, and couple of new shoes for my suits. ($2000)
8) Buy a BMW ($100,000)
9) Buy a 42" HD-TV ($4000)
10) Happiness. (Priceless). lol
I think that's all I would do with it because I got everything else I need. So after all this, I would have about $1,446,000 left in my savings account. With 5.05% interest, I would earn about $74,737 in interest in my first year (an average of around $6000/month). I probably don't even need a job, then again, I like to keep myself busy.
If my Roth IRA earns an average rate of 12% (which it is currently doing now) and I continue to invest $333/month, I would have about $1,175,460. in 30 years. |

I would buy a small house so I didnt have to pay a mortgage and then buy a business with the rest so I had guaranteed income, not one to make mega bucks but one that would be really interesting that I could do as & when I wanted so I could work part time, full time, what ever I fancy that day. Something like a boutique where I could do all the buying of the stock and employ someone else to do the horrible stuff. |
