If you had $70,000 and 20 years to make it worth something GREAT.. what would you do with it?

â–‘BigBullâ–‘
I'd use half of it myself, real selfish stuff. The rest I'd spend on close family and contribute to the great and wonderful Gun Owners of America organization!!!1
Anyone who says they'll do something 'nice' and positive is lying. 70K doesn't go like that, but a few thousand will.

Absolutely, put it in a good mutual fund. Do your home work, look for a fund that has a good long track record, a minimum of 10 years. Forget 1 year returns look at the 5 and 10 year averages. Try for a no-load fund. If you do a good job at picking, your $70,000 could be worth $560,000 or more.

I would invest most of it in a 401k, roth ira, and great mutual funds.

The best use of that money would be to invest it in yourself. Put yourself through a good college. A good education always pays you back through the rest of your life.

Let me give you the math behind compound interest. The future value depends directly with the interest over time you dedicate. If you find a investment vehicle that can give you a rate of return of 10% average you will have after 20 years $470,905. Phil Town has a site that says he makes 15% average per year so it can grow to almost a million in 20 years

If I had $70,000 and 20 years to use it I would get: a laptop, home-schooled, and the rest I would use to get school supplies and other important things.
