First, a million dollars are not a lot these days. Still, you have to work later in your life unless you are close to retirement.
Second, you don't have to tell anybody, and especially your boss. If you tell somebody, they are going to ask you for money.
Last, you can save those money and invest in something save. |

I wouldnt tell him anything. I would continue working but have somewhat shorter weeks for "personal" reasons. If you tell your boss, he is likely to open his mouth one day out of accident or spite and tell everyone then they will be wanting to barrow money from you. |

If it's possible to BUY the business with a million bucks, and your boss is a total jackass... I would take the pleasure of buying it and telling him he's fired.
If not, I would tell him to sit on his thumb and rotate. |
