You are in a shopping centre, someone has left a bag full of money on a public bench You walk over, take a peak. Noone seems to be looking. Would you? Why?

No. I wouldn't because it's wrong. What if from far away someone was looking and took a pic. of you with their phone or camera? Also, if the next day there is a police report, they start looking for clues right away. They could trace you down. But over-all, it's not your money, and as soon as you see it, you should take it to security right away. It's the honest thing to do.

I'd take it. I know it would be wrong but I'm struggling with bills and keeping afloat.

i would be dying to, but i wouldnt becasue i know that its not mine and i didnt earn it. at the same time i wouldnt leave it there for soemone else o take, id take it to the police station, and hope that the person who lost it would give me a reward for returning the money. =D would you steal it?

that is a lot of money fro someone to lose! I will have to take it to the police or put an advert fro the rightful owner to turn up..

once there was a film made on this very theme--

an honest good man finds a large sum of money in a taxi he gets into..
as he is in a desperate situation and short of money fr his daughter's wedding he takes it home as he was just returning frm the bank which had refused a loan at the last minute..

he tells his wife he got the loan frm the bnk and all goes well with the wedding..

but he is an honest man, he is not able to live with it, his conscience practically kills him but does not say a word to his wife, who by now cannot understand what is eating him up.
he watches the news, the papers but nothing there is no news about anybody losing money..
he becomes a rich man quite soon with his business flourishing but he has no peace of mind.. he wants to find out by any means who had lost tht huge amount so he can return it with thanks but he can't trace the person

then one day, many yrs late,r he invites someone he has met through his business or something like that..

when this woman comes to dine with the family someone asks why she never got married ..then she tells them that her father who was coming back home with a huge sum in taxi seemed to have lost it somewhere -it was the sum of money that was fro her wedding in a couple of days ..

as soon as her father realize he'd lost the money he died of shock with a heart attack and the wedding was cancelled.. and she stayed a spinster..

the story breaks his heart as he knows where the money went . i think he dies from the shock of what tragedy his action has caused, confesses to the family in his dying breath and asking for her forgiveness..

so u see --can't live with something like that --its a huge sum -if i took it have to rtn it somehow..

Yes, my lifelong dream is to be self-sufficient. To not take anymore than I can put in etc. This requires land, that can be bought for less than ВЈ5k in Bulgaria. I'd be off in a second, the rest would go to the PDSA.

Who has this sort of money really? Corrupt people. What would they spend it on?

Probably would like to just grab and run. However, would probably take to the police as if is not claimed within a certain time you get it anyway and you have done the right thing morally.

I would only because im in so much debt. I would pay everything off... buy myself a new wardrobe... have a holiday (as i have not had one this year) keep some for myself and donate the rest!

No. That's theft. If you think you won't get caught you're dreaming (especially in the UK with all those cameras).
