I have to come up with 8k more to pay for my lawyer, i have to give him 35k overall, 10k down payment, 20k bond, and 5k later, plus the 2k in my bank. I work at a hotel and get between 24 and 32 hours. I had a second job at a gas station, but was let go because i DID NO SELL TO A MINOR!!! I was suposed to get a $100.00 bonus on my check but instead i was fired! and the store manager got the reward! Anyways i was working both jobs 72.5 hours a week!!! Now im tring to find a mon - fri daytime job and work weekend nights at the hotel, at 7.50 and hour how long would it take me to get to 8k? I need it in 6 months!!! Any advice or feedback would be great, u can contact me on here via email or it would be great to chat on yahoo IM, Thanks......btw, i love this yahoo awnsers, it might be better than MYSPACE!!! Find one full time job first, 24 to 32 hours is not cutting it. Then find another part time gig (Walmart is always hiring) to set aside all the earnings just for the lawyer. I paid 8K in credit cards in six moths, you can do it too! No eating out, no movies, no entertainment...but its all temporary. |

Is a loan out of the question. What is you background, are you qualified to get a better paying job.
Do you have parents or family that can lend you the money. If not can they co-sign a loan.
What is the reason behind the large amount of money you need for the lawyer.
There are many assistance programs for people who cannot afford a lawyer. What state do you live in?

8 k in 6 mos. that is 1333.33 a month 333.33 a month 66.67 a day after taxes. 8.33 per hour. You have several options. Second job. Ask for a raise. Cash in vacation and sick time. Borrow against retirement plan. Get a loan. Sell your car. Have a yard sale. cut your spending by taking in a rentor, use public transportation, walk, or get a bicycle. It is summer time mow lawns. There is also alot of farmwork going on right now and most pay cash. You already have an employer ask to work in another dept on an opposite shift ( explain your situation ) your employer may be very understanding. Your employer might even offer a loan with payroll deduction depending on your trustworthiness. Extra money is not a problem if you need it and want it bad enough. You can make it honestly if you apply yourself...

get a second job. (one example is working with a road crew holding slow/stop sign --- can get 15 to 20 dollars an hour). also, you need to start budgeting. you are going to have to be on a shoestring budget. One good site to get started --- www.crown.org. Don't just think about the six months, but change your habits for a lifetime. Good luck |
