Do you really want to know or is this more of a "hey everybody, I've got 13 grand in the bank!" statement? |

I think you are doing very well for yourself. Most people tend to be living in their overdrafts or on loans. |

You're probably ahead of a lot of other people.
Do you have any debt? Do you have other assets? Do you have any retirement money put away? I don't know how pensions and retirement is handled in the UK, but at age 30, you probably have 30 years or so ahead of you to save any significant amount of money. It's not impossible, but you have to be diligent to make it happen. If you don't know how it's done, talk to a financial adviser, or do some research on it, and get moving. |

Lucky you. I am 33 and having just paid my mortage I have -£2000.
I am not poor. I have everything I need.
If you do not have everything you need, then yes, you are poor.
However, brilliant you for saving. Keep it up. |

It doesn't make you poor, you are richer than someone who has zero in their account. |

Your the first 30 year old with that amount that i know. As the others have said most young uns have just got debts. You should be proud of yourself. |

You can only eat so much and drink so much. the amount of money you have is academic, its your quality of life that matters for example some millionaires are housebound invalid, and don't enjoy life. and there are those with little money .happy
and enjoy life like i do, i feel i am the richest man in the world,
because i love life . |

If you think of wealth as being 'poor' you are not doing too bad, however how is the rest of your life family, friends social. I'm just graduating uni and have 19,000 to pay off my student loan so i'd consider myself poor - however having a loving family, great friends and soso health I feel myself rich - hope this helps |

Poor? If you are credit to the tune of13k, you are lucky. Many people have debts way beyond that level. |
