if you think the check will bounce, save the fees the banks will charge you, go to the office at the desk, and ask them to collect the funds for that check... you might have to wait a few days, but you save the fees............this way you will know if it will be good, and don't put it into your account and spend it, then not only do you have problems collecting the money, but have to pay fees on the checks you wrote to stores, etc......... |

You will be debited for the bounced check in ANY event, so if you have cause to believe a check is no good, get cash from that person and avoid trouble altogether. |

they will take the money back, if you withdraw it you are still liable for it and you have to pay the fees associated with the bad check.
If you knew it was bad when you deposited you could even be on the hook for criminal charges |

If you draw the cash out, the bank will be after you for their money back.
If you transfer it to another bank, and it bounces, then THAT bank will want their money back.
Best thing is to not touch it, and if it bounces then go after the person that wrote you the bad check. Get a bank check (or cash) from them instead, and if that's not possible, take them to Small Claims Court (usually a $35 or so filing fee that you can ask back as well) and force them to do it. |

You're going to owe it either way. If you move it to another account in the same bank, they can just take it. If you pull it out all together, they can sue you for the money. They'll get it one way or the other. |

Transferring the money probably won't help. Your funds may be frozen until after the check clears through the bank. Or if the check bounces and you have more than that amount in the account that you deposited into, the bank will take those funds. |

This may leave you with fees tall as trees if the check does bounce, but how badly do you need it? |
