If you was unhappy at your job and you've looked for jobs and nothing's came up; would you try to get fire?
Get fired to collect unemployement and still look for a job?

Yo cain't get know job. U dan't no how two spelt.

Welfare/Unemployment was not designed to be a backup to your laziness. You have a job, be greatful. If youre not happy, look for a job on your own time, not the taxpayers dime that pays for you not working.

Besides, I dont think people that quit/are fired can even collect unemployment.

NO! NO! NO!

Getting fired looks HORRIBLE on your resume when you're trying to get a new job. I would continue working where you are at and continue looking for a new job as well. Could you still get money from unemployment? Yes. But you sell yourself short with your new employer having been fired!

No, because your next job will want a reference, you don't want to explain being fired. Just check on other options while working.

I wouldn't try to get fired. If I were financially stable I might consider resignation.

no. I would just quit.

UOPHXstudent
Keep working until you find another job. Getting fired is not worth the hassle and then explaining it on the reference at the new job.

KB
Nope.

I would (and have ion the past) suck it up and keep looking. Unemployment does not equal your current salary, and does not offer health insurance and other benefits. ALSO, when you are looking for a new job, and your potential employer calls your previous employer, they will find out you got fired, and it may effect your ability to get a new job.

hernamewaslola
no don't get fired, first take a grammar class and then go job hunting again. interviewers tend to look down on people with bad grammar.

Try a job service near you (type "job service" and your city/state to locate job service centers).

Or try the following websites:

In my state you can't get unemployment if you get fired - only if you get layed off or lose your job for other reasons such as the company went under, etc. (and I'm pretty sure that's how it is nationally - so doubtful you'd get unemployment if fired) You get fired?..in most states that means no unemployment for you. I think that's only fair.

Other reasons you shouldn't get fired is you can never use that job as a reference AND many employers and companies these days network. If the new company you apply to runs a background check on you for employment - they will call your employer and discover you were fired....
Not your best option - it's not even an option - don't do it.

Do not get yourself fired. It is silly. If you can't find a better job, stay put, save money, and keep looking.

No - having an income, even if it comes from a crappy job that you hate, is better than having no income and no job at all.

Keep looking for jobs - go on interviews and try to hang in there - jobs aren't always easy to come by, just do the best you can at your current job and look for a new one.

At least if you do it this way, you'll be able to use your current job as a reference.

No because a job is better than no job. Hang in there! Something will come along. If not then take a "for now" job but be careful because you had hurt your pay structure in the long run. I moved around a few times until I found the right position at the right company.
