I love handbags!!! But there is NO way, even if I had all the money in the world, that I would feel good with myself for purchasing a handbag that cost even over $1,000! It's a materialistic desire that doesn't last long. I should know, I own well over 60 handbags. You get excited in the moment and then after a few times, that excitement is no more. Whereas, helping missionaries, ministries, world wide organizations and groups, that money would so much more use elsewhere and is never a regret.
So in short...YES it does disgust me. It's unnecessary and when you die...it didn't make a difference whereas, that money could have made a difference in someone's life who needed it for food...etc... =) |

Majority of people who buy these things are not rich. They want to look rich. There is a world of difference.
I pity the silly suckers especially when you could get a fake version of the same handbag for $50. Most people would never tell the difference. |

While I can't say I would ever buy ANY sort of handbag, I don't see the point in paying that much for anything where there is no obvious advantage. Expensive cars can most certainly do things that my '99 Taurus can't, but to me, a bag is a bag, sunglasses are sunglasses, and golden toilet seats are still just going to be up close and personal with my ****. Besides, why would you dump that much money on a fashion statement when it's going to go out of style just as quickly as it popped up? |

I think spending that much on junk is a big mistake. You have to be smart with your money or someday you'll have none. |

i don't know that i'd spend that much, but i believe that if i work hard through high school and college and i make good money, i should reward myself. i think it's stupid for parents to buy their bratty children new cars and stuff when they don't do anything to deserve it. |

I don't understand that at all. If I had 13 grand to throw away I would donate it, put it into a savings account for my kids (If I ever have any), or something similar.
This is assuming I have a nice house, car, etc. Which if someone is spending 13K on a purse they must be REALLY secure financially. |

I would if it looked nice and I really wanted it, but it honestly doesn't matter. There is a certain price at which things start to look really ugly. |
