Most will go to the next business day, many have grace periods. If the bill in question is a credit card with a high late payment fee and a "default" interest rate, get it in early. Those type of credit cards "feed" on charging you fees and take every opportunity to do so. |

if it's late, it's late...you should pay it on the date before the holiday to ensure the payment is posted to the account. And keep in mind that it can take up to 2 business days for the payment to be posted. |

Normally, the bill has to be paid, no matter what, by the due date. So to be safe, I'd advise sending a bit early.
Some places just want to see it postmarked by the due date, but they will indicate that if so. |

If your bills are due on a Sunday or holiday, then they should be paid prior to the date; late is late, regardless of holidays and Sundays. |

Yup, you have to pay it the prior business day to avoid the late charges. I just found that out the hard way with my mortgage. |

Best to have it in the previous business day. |

Almost always, you need to pay before the holiday. Except, most tax payments are due the day after the holiday. Even with tax payments, why risk it?
Check with the company/entity you owe money to--that is the best way to be sure of timely payments.
Pay your bills to arrive by the due date. Make sure your tax payments are postmarked by the due date. |

u should send your payment before due date, and make sure you allow sufficient amount of time for slow postal service and they take some time to post your payment onto your file; Your payment isn't considered received until they post it on the computer. |

I wouldn't take that chance. If you must then call your creditors to be sure. But I am pretty sure that they would expect it by that date or sooner which ever falls first regardless of holidays and/or Sundays. |

most bills have a "grace period" contact the creditor.
for instance, my mortgage is due by the 3rd of each month, but it's not really "late" until the 15th |

the earlier u can pay the better, they don't care if the due date falls during holidays, sunday, snow storm, your birthday. It is to there advantage, they will get the late fee, over-the-limit fee and any other fee they can get their hands on...if any of these happen to you, your good credit can get ruined if it happens to many times by showing up on your credit report...
p.s. don't forget to read the tiny weeny print on their brochures that they send you |

depends on the company an it depends on the holiday. Banks are different than some credit card companies. Where some banks call it a legal holiday some credit card or buisnesses don't and they continue to work. As far as Sundays, I would call your billing company. |

I think they usually let you pay it the following business day. I'm sure it depends on individual agency's policies though. |

It has to be received by the person you owe by the due date, or in some cases, postmarked on or before the due date. Anything else would be considered late. Not that its ok to be late, but alot of places won't assess late charges until 10 or more days after the due date, to give you a little buffer. |

It has to be paid the previous biz day. Because they run off the computer system which automatically generates bills, late fees or in some cases disconnects your service. |

It can be for some companies, but a friend of mine was dinged with a late fee for paying the day following, so just pay early to be safe. |

I would personally recommend getting it paid the day before, that way they don't try to slap you with some stupid late fee. |
