What about advertising dog walking services on your local gumtree website, or a paper round? Or offer to help peple with their gardens or wash cars for a small fee. What about making cards or jewellery or jars of sweets and selling them to friends and family? I know its hard, i washed old ladies hair in a hairdressers every Saturday for 10 quid when i was 13! |

Hi,
Though your age may not legally permit you to work, you can still choose a home based online job as there can't be any age barrier in doing so. But you should be wary of scamsters on internet who would demand an upfront fee and runaway eventually. Check out http://www.careercounsel.info for some useful info and tips on finding a suitable work at home offer. Good luck! |

I am pretty sure you can't legally do anything at 13. You should ask your neighbours though if they want work doing in their gardens or around the house. They could pay you for that.
If you lived near me I would defo pay you to wash my car and clear my garden! |

The basic rules if you are age 13 or 14 are:
On school days you can only work one hour before school and one hour after school.
On Saturdays, you can work up to five hours.
On Sundays you can work for two hours.
In the school holidays you can work up to five hours a day, but not more than 25 hours in a week.
You are supposed to get a work permit for jobs like this - usually newspaper or leaflet deliveries.
Jobs which don't need a permit for include things like pet sitting, dog walking, gardening, car washing or baby-sitting. Ask around friends, neighbours and family to see if they know of any opportunities. |
