Im 27 and I still borrow money from my parents. I work hard though, is this acceptable?
I know they're not a bank, im working on getting a part time job....I've started living on my own but I live in Taxachusetts, so it's difficult.

Umm guys........

I HAVE a full-time job. A very good one at that. I simply did not disclose that. I just still struggle with certain bills and these are SPECIFIC needs.....meaning I limit how much money I blow. If anything, I need a tutorial slap in the face about money management, not a lecture on life.

Every single one of you who have answered this question and threw me under the bus---judging me for omitting that I was in fact employed can go to hell.

I work very hard, put up with a co-worker's ignorance and s*it attitude everyday, so spare me your condescending scornful remarks.........

And for the guy who started your own business at 18---did you have your trust fund given to you by that age too?

It almost certainly hampers your ability to become a self-sufficient human. There are millions of people who live in Taxachusetts, get jobs, pay their taxes and their bills, and live their lives. Join the club.

You're "working on getting a part time job"? C'mon!

You say you work hard enough but then you say you're working on getting a part time job. Which is it?

You're 27? Let me know when you decide to become a grown up and take care of yourself. And quit blaming the state you live in, that's your choice and millions of other residents manage without crying to mom and dad. God, what a little baby.

Happy to Help
Somtimes parents want us to remain in their care but it really does hinder your personal growth.

Make every effort to get a job at this point and perhaps eventually move to where their are more opportunities. People will be patient for about a second longer because you are in your twenties but not for much longer.

Do everything you can to get your life in gear...

Best of Luck

If you don't have a problem with it - and they don't - who are we to judge.

I personally would feel like a total leech.

Of course - I was living on my own by 18 and managing a staff of 12 salespeople for a central PA Rainbow distributorship within 6 months of graduating.

If your asking this question then I think you are not okay with it.

At the age of 27 I would certainly expect you to have a full time job already not just starting to look for a part-time job.

drgnotary
start by setting up a personal budget. Don't spend more than you have allowed yourself. It takes discipline to stop borrowing money.

GG
you are joking right? Because you live in MA, you can't get a job because of taxes? That is ridiculous. Step up, get up and get a job. You are an adult whether you think so or not.
