Get a copy of Money magazine and buy one of the credit courses in the back... you need it! |

As long as you know there is enough money in your account to cover your purchases, you'll be fine. Pending means the purchases have not gone all the way through the system yet. |

The nice thing about debit cards is that it won't let you spend money if it's not there and it does take it right away. You are safe. Hope this helped. |

Pending means the transaction isn't finalized.Once the recipient has received and accepted the money then the transaction is complete. |

As far as I know, you are worrying about nothing. It's probably just a legal "CYA" type thing on the part of the bank.
A way for the bank to tell the retailer you just paid that if, somehow, you have just spent more than is in your bank account, said retailer may not be paid.
At least not until you have put more money into your account to cover the purchase and the bank's "over the limit" fees. Said fees will be paid off first, of course.
All you have to do is know your balance and not spend more. Meaning that if you have $10 in the bank and you just made a purchase for $7, you don't go to the next store and make a new purchase of $5.
7 + 5 = 12 and that's more than the 10 you have in the bank.
I am not trying to belittle you here. Just to make it as simple as possible for "finance challenged" people to understand who unfortunately get scr•wed every day. |

when they run it as a credit card, it doesn't automatically take it out, it just runs to see if there are funds available. My store, fo example, we don't have a pin pad, so we run as credit, so any debit card with the visa or mastercard logo on it can be run as a credit card. This means that you sign instead of entering a pin number. Anytime you sign, it is credit, not debit. So they check funds, and the bank puts that amount on hold pending the signature authorization. It depends on how often they run the batch, and the different banks, but an average would be 1-5 business days before the credit transactions clear. Always check both balance and available balance, and consider using a register so you know what you have spent. |

Pending means it's not been manually processed by your bank. If you worry about how much you spend keep a written total in your pocket and subtract what you spend from what you know your total amount is in your account. |

call you bank.... if its pending it has already hit your account |

Pending means it's in the process of being final. Usually when it says pending they've already subtracted the amount from your total, but other times not.
Instead of asking strangers who know nothing about your particular bank, look at your statement and do the math. |
