Is it a lot of money... yes!
Would I be "satisfied"... yes.

Will it make a dent in my retirement needs.... no.
Can I buy some things with it..... yes.
Is it enough for an emergency fund..... no.

So to answer your question another way..... it depends.

That Guy
I wouldn't say it's a lot of money. I wouldn't turn it down if someone gave it to me, but it certainly isn't going to make me independently wealthy.

It wouldnt be life changing for me, but yes it is a good chunk of change.

There would be a lot I would be able to do with it, but I am not to where if I dont win 20k I am worried about going under, so while I would be glad to win it sure I would like more

mynappyroots
yeah, it's a lot of money. some people in this country don't make that in a year. The next time you're at Mc Donald's ask an employee if $20,000 is a lot of money to you.

20k is not alot of money
Yes, I would be very satisfied with the amount.
No i don't think you can buy alot with it. Consider how expensive living cost has risen in the last 5 years. That amount wouldn't even buy a decent new car, let alone make a difference in one's lifestyle. What it will do however, is make me one step closer to the end-game.

Its better than a sharp stick in the eye, especially if you have to pay the medical bills for the sharp stick in the eye.
