Depends of the location and your line of work.

Judy1
That depends on what kind of job you have, and where you are located. If you are in a very high cost area, it might be a little on the low side, but most places that's pretty decent.

The modal wage in the US is around $44,000/year, so $40,000 for someone who has only three years experience and cannot spell the word experience is EXTREMELY "good money"....LOL!

Well done!

IT IS A GOOD PLACE TO BEGIN. TO GET SOME EXPERIENCE. BUT WHERE ARE YOU?? IN MINNESOTA THAT WILL GET YOU A DECENT HOME, AND A COMFY LIFESTYLE BUT NOT WEALTHY.

In 2007, the median income for men employed full-time was about $43,500.

So, $40,000 isn't great, but you just got started. And money isn't everything - you must enjoy what you do for a living.

When I was younger, in my early 20's, I went after the bucks. I didn't really enjoy computer programming, but the military had trained me to do it well, and in civilian life the money was good. I'd much rather have been a pilot or a photographer, both passions of mine. Now, 25 years later, I hate getting up to go to work every morning. I count the minutes until the end of the day, and a feeling of dread comes over me every Sunday afternoon know that I have to go back to the work that I hate on Monday morning. Yes, I get paid well. It would be nearly impossible for me to change careers now because I have debts and obligations that require me to make the money that I do in the IT business. I can't wait until May 18th, 2022. That's the day that I can retire and get out of this career and do something that I enjoy.

So, the question really isn't how much do you make - you make enough to live. The question is, do you enjoy what you do?

Someone said, "Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life". Good advice.

That's peanuts!

Go get a real job like a SECURITY GAURD!

At least you won't have to use your brain that much.

In the Midwest and just out of school, that is good money!

If on either coast, go back to school and get a masters, because you can't live very well on that figure!

It depends on your degree and field of experience. I am just making that in Oklahoma as a teacher with 18 yrs of experience.
