Of course it is. But it also depends on other things such as what the money is tasked for. If you are buying or selling a house for that much, that is not a lot of money. If you are buying or selling a low end car for that much, then it is a lot of money.
But I don't think there's anyone who would consider $40,000 cash to be "a little money". |

for what? it's a lot to pay for a car, not enough to buy a home, and many people support a family on this much every year, but many more earn much less. if you're asking, it must mean you're really young. |

It's all relative. Depends what you need. If you already own your home and car, then 40k would buy a lot of little "wants". On the other hand, if you wanted to buy a Ferrari, it would be a mere down payment. |

well in terms of major purchases you can make with it, not really. Like a nice car, and not even over nice is easily 40,000.
A house is quite a bit more that that on average. |
