aali_yna | Is ING Direct ( the online bacnk) , a scam?? |
What has your experience been? |

ING is a legitimate, FDIC insured online bank. If you are looking for an online high-yield savings account, I suggest looking into HSBC Direct or Emigrant Direct. These are both offeriing 5.05%. |

ING is legit... they have over 115,000 employees, revenues of 93B euros as of 2004.
Definitely can be trusted :D |

No, they are legit. |

They are legitimate and I have had an online account with them for quite some time - no problems. |

I had account with ING and they are legit, however if you are looking for the best interest rate online, try HSBC. Their savings account beats them all with no fees ever, free bank-to-bank transfers, a super-secure site and 5.05% interest rate (and climbing on a regular basis). Go to:

I don't have an account with them but know people who do. They seem to be totally legitimate. They can give more interest on their bank accounts and charge less is fees since they have relatively little overhead expense with no physical bank branches or people to staff them. I believe all of their business is done online. Same with PC (President's Choice) online banking. |

No it is not. I have used them for 2 years now and have had absolutely no problems. I think it's a good place to save your money. |

I've been using ING Direct for over 6 years and have found it an excellent online bank. It is a legitimate bank, and they have very good interest rates. One thing I really like about them is that you can transfer money between your ING Direct savings account and your checking account for free. So even though it's an internet bank it's easy to get to your money (2 days). I've never had a problem. Good luck! Jen ;-) |

Nope, been using them for 2 years now and have made a boatload in interest.
They are federally insured and protected. |

No its not a scam. I have an ING Direct account and it gains intrest each month on the money that I already have in the account. I think its a good way to save money without have to do the work. |

ING Direct is not a scam. I have been with the them since November, 2005. The account was very easy to open. There are no fees what-so-ever, and they offer a pretty high interest rate for a savings account. Overall my experience has been very good with them. There is one thing I wish they would change though, and I explain it below:
If you request a transfer from your regular bank to your ING Direct savings account, ING doesn't take the money out of your regular banks account until 2 or 3 days after you've requested the transfer. I have a savings account with EmigrantDirect.com too and they take the money out out my regular bank account at 9:00 a.m. the day after I request a transfer. This also applys to withdrawals from your ING Direct account. If you need to transfer money from your ING account to your regular bank account, it takes 2-3 business days. Whereas with EmigrantDirect.com, it's in your regular bank account the next business day.
ING is a very good company but I would recommend EmigrantDirect over ING because Emigrant is more effiecent with transfering money between your regular account and your savings account. |

No. It's legit. |

They are a legitimate organization but I would suggest that you look for a Credit Union in your area. By using a not-for-profit organization you'll find the rates to be very competitive (and in some cases better!) with the commercial (for profit) banks.
To find a Credit Union near you go to www.ncua.gov and look in the Resources for Consumers section.
Good Luck! |

No they are a bank of good repute.
However, they do not have retail outlets so always deal with a bank that gives personal service. |
