I know theres laws restricting my work hours, but I was curious about income. I also know I have to file to pay income taxes here in TX during April.
I guess I should explain my situation. I am nearly 17 and have had many plans on how to get rich. I want to obtain an online empire of my own this year and earn $5,000,000. I know, you think that i cant and I doubt I could either. However, I do have alot of eBook ideas and other online sales ideas that could bring in alot of revenue. I plan to own many websites too and sell whatever I decide on, there. Nothing illegal! [NO drugs, porn, or anything like that]
This probably sounds really stupid and I bet that you're rolling your eyes. Just please, answer the question. Are their any laws limiting how much income I can make at 17 years old? |

I don't believe there are any laws against making money? That would be totally un-American, but just to be sure check with your local chamber of commerce.
Tip : Start making the money and worry about that kind of stuff if problems should arise. |

Since you live in the United States, you are in a free market economy.
There is no limit to how much income a teenager can make in Texas. Good luck and you may want to hire a staff to help you in your business enterprise. |

No law restricting how much you make but definitely laws regarding the taxation of your income and exemptions or credits. ( minor dependent , student, etc...) Good luck making your fortune and consult a tax attorney if you make it . |

Edit, there are laws governing how many hours u can work as an employee, but at 17, u r exempt from most of them and they are void in most family bs. , anyway, so no probs there. |
