if the marriage is a true partnership, there isn't wife's debt and husband's debt.. it's "THEIR" debt. |

If they were joint accounts or even if she had a 2nd card on her account in your name, yes. |

This is not a YES or NO answer.
Things to consider:
Were they married when debt occured?
Is husband listed on account?
Do they hold a joint checking account (in case of wage garnishment due to nonpayment)?
Did wife die and leave or not leave an estate?
It really depends on the circumstances... |

Technically it depends on how much is the debt and any co-owned assets.
If his wife's credit card was a supplementary card from his main card, then YES
If he is her guarantor, then YES
If his wife's credit card is link to their joint accounts, then YES.
If u love your wife and u know that if she is going to borrow from someone and ultimately you are paying, and u have spare cash now, then, help her.
If u love your wife but u love ur hard earned money more and u have nothing under joint account with her like her house and things like that, than let her go bankrupt to punish her. But to do so, ur joint accounts and properties should have the names change to yours and u need a lawyers advice. |
