Is it better to pay off two small credit card balances or pay on 1 large balance?

CupCake
Its always best to pay down the one with the highest interest rate first not necessarily the one with the highest balance

Personally, I'd pay the two small ones and then use the money that I had been paying on the small ones every month to reduce the debt on the large one.

However you reduce the debt, you are better off.

If the large one has the highest interest rate, I might pay that one off first though. Higher interest rate is cosing you money every month. Pay them all off as soon as possible. I hate credit card interest. It makes that item you bought incredibly expensive when you add up all the interest you paid on it.

it doesn't matter. either way you decide to pay it, they're both gonna get paid anyway.

Pay off the CC that charge you the highest interst rates first.

Pay off the higher interest rate card first.

SG Elite
work out on the interests and see which charges highest then pay-off that bill.

consolidate to the card with the lowest interest or better yet to a new one offering no interst, stop buying on credit and pay it off

Frank Castle
It depends.

What Credit Card charges you more?

Pay off your balances on your two credit cards. You then have some extra money each month to go towards what you owe on your one large balance.

demented
one large balance. Because if you do the 2 small credit cards, you will go bankrupt faster.

emucompboy
Pay the one that has the highest interest rate.
Repeat.

LinnaD
It is better in my opinion to pay off the two smaller balances first. Then take the monthly payments you were paying on those small balances and apply them to the big balance each month on top of the payment you are already making for the big balance.
