Yes you can do it, but it is highly recommended not to. Here's why: If your letter is lost in mail, your out of luck, no way of getting your money back. Also if your money was sent to the wrong address, or misplaced into the wrong box, the opener of the mail would see cash and you can kiss it good-bye. Finally postal equipment can and does destroy mail occaisonally. If the letter gets jamed in the speed sorter, whoever is overseeing the process has now just pocketed your money.

Now if this is some black Op, mongoose sending snake-doctor a package type deal, your best be is to deliver the goods yourself. If that is not possible, take the risk but don't complain if they hold you accountable for not recieving money EVEN if they actually do recieve it. Cash has no paper trail, some benefit from that while others do not. Your best option is to walk down your local convienient store and ask for a money order, generally they are about .90 cents, sometimes a % of the monetary value you are looking to send.

I'll offer you a free trial, send some cash my way and I'll tell you if it arrived safely. :)~

Yeah, 30 bucks should be okay. It's not like, a ton of money. If you sent a money order, and it was lost, the money order company would charge you a 12 dollar refund fee anyway. Just send it, and, like you said, make sure the money can't be seen.

By the way, everyone is saying "just send a check" -- you can cancel it later, well, most checking accounts would charge you an approx. 20$ fee for cashing the check anyway. It is 30 bucks--it is not worth sending a money order/check, as long it is going to an individual person, and not a business.

Shauna
There are no guarantees. The person might receive the money and then tell you they did not. You'll never know. Send them a money order...it's as good as cash, and it is trackable.

aladdinwa
That's the only way I WOULD send it through the mail.

dickn2000
SURE!!!! My address is...

I would not send it to a business where you don't know who is opening mail. If it is a person who opens their own mail, I have gotten $ like that. You could send it certified or express mail to add a level of security.

Send it by "registered mail"

Much better not to. My morhter-in-law sent a 50 dollar bill to my son in a birthday card and it never arrived. Do you have a PayPal account? That is a safe alternative. Or a money order (keep the receipt) is a low cost alternative.

curmudgeon
Hard to prove they received it if they lie. A postal money order is better. But if you must, wrap the cash in a clean sheet of paper.

Only if you don't mind losing it. There will be no way to make sure it gets there. Spand a couple bucks and send a cert check. You can buy one at any bank and most convenience stores.

its not right, you better go to a place where you can buy money orders, the post office sells them.

Hey guys that sounds like illegal to me , if people start sending money by mail, the mailman lives will be at risk, the gangstars are going to start assaulting them.

Be careful. I have done it... in a bind. I also wrap it in paper before I put it in the envelop so that people can't see it. You could to a money order that might be safer. It's like a check, but you don't need a bank account.

Maybaby
I've sent money in the mail lots of times, you just need to wrap it up in paper first. You should also be prepared if it gets stolen. You'll have to ask the person if they received it to set your mind at ease. Try to not let the envelope look like it might have money in it. Is there any way at all that you can send a check? I would advise that, just to avoid any unnecessary trouble to you.

alot of people say you shouldn't but i used to get money in the mail in cards for x-mas so i'm sure its fine but anything can happen

You could but make sure you use security envelopes that can't be seen through. If you could write a check that would be safer. If the check gets lost you can just cancel it. If you lose the cash there's no getting it back.

hotsubs
No way. What if it gets lost? Buy a cashiers check or money order. Money Orders are available at convenience stores, post offices ect.

the only problem is that if it's lost it's gone forever. 30 dollars isn't too much. I would risk it.

windberry37
It is legal if that is what you mean, but if it gets lost-you are SOL. DO NOT send cash to a business however. You never know who is opening the mail and that is a temptation for someone.

I know people who do it but you are taking a chance. Make sure no one can see through the envelope or your money is gone.

Nope! You should atleast wrap it in notebook paper before you put the money in the envelope. Or you can buy those envelopes that have the grid design on the inside.

$Sun King$
I'd tell you but you have to send me $10 in a plain manila envelope first.
