Is it okay to lose $370 if you're okay with it?
I bought a wedding dress at the store that I thought I could pay off monthly. I was confused about the policy of the store and before I knew it, I started getting phone calls saying I needed to pay the full balance or I would lose the dress.
Because of this, I am unable to see my boyfriend from London until possibly next year. This is painful for me to accept. I would rather just lose the $370, and save up to pay off the credit card and buy a plane ticket. My family is flipping out and they think I should pay off the whole dress (on the credit card, I assume or in cash) and forget about going to see him. They think "its far too much to waste" but its just money!! I spend nearly my entire paychecks monthly, but I have cut up all of my credit cards and only use cash now because I am getting back on track.
I am sick of this bull because I underestimated the risks. I want to forget about all of this **** and just save up to see my boyfriend. What should I do or say? Or should I shut up?
Additional Details
The wedding dress is non-refundable.

Pay off debt before pleasure. In the end you will feel much better about it and then you can save up and see your bf without a guilt conscience hanging over your head.

Cheers

I'm with Stupid.
I think you should just pay for the dress and get it over with. That way, you won't have to spend money on another dress.

I think that you need to figure out what is most important to you. Personally I think that my boyfriend is worth a lot more than any dress. But i guess u just need to fig out what is best for you. Is it really worth it to not see your boyfriend for 2 months? I would choose boyfriend all the way, your family will get over it.

Shut up, I'm not being rude those are your words.

JLM
Pay off the dress and try to resell the dress and recoup some of your costs.

Do what you want! Screw the dress, the bf is the whole reason you're buying it anyways...go see the man!

You do what you want! Money is just money, nothing more. Time with your boyfriend is definitely more important if that is how you feel. Don't let anyone guilt you into doing something you're not comfortable with!

take back the dress. You won't need the dress if you can't see your boyfriend, because then you won't get married. Remember your priorities.

I'd agree with everyone here that seeing bf is the utmost priority rather than buying the wedding dress. I'm pretty sure they accept refund. Get on with will ya?

If I had it to do over, I would run away and elope.....saves money all the way around.
