Taxes in the US are lower than in some other countries, the trade off being that many of those countries supply health care at low cost while medical insurance and costs are a private burden in the U.S.
One of the duties of most businesses in the U.S. is to collect some of those taxes from customers - sales taxes are based on the amount the customer purchase (with excepts for food and medicine in most states) and must be passed to the states at regular intervals. Businesses must deduct and sent to the federal government and states that have them withholding to cover income taxes including social security and must pay workman's compensation to the state which covers workers injured on the job so badly they can't work - how much the business pays depends on the riskiness. Businesses may also pay franchise taxes if they are corporations and will pay local property taxes on inventory and property owned which cover local government services (police, fire, parks, etc.) and education. |

Yes, there are many rich people in the USA.
It is not easy to get rich here.
You will never get rich working for someone else.
There are many different taxes.
There is a social security tax.
The federal goverment charges an tax on income.
Most states also have an income tax.
Most states have a sales tax also.
Counties have property taxes and often sales taxes.
Cities have property taxes and often sales taxes.
It becomes an art on finding legal ways to not have to pay taxes, such as putting money into tax advantaged accounts.
The cities and states that have the most taxes, usually have the most oppurtunity to make money. |

("RIch" is a difficult term to define here in the U.S.. A person who is "rich" in Mississippi might not be considered "rich" in New York.)
Generally speaking though, here in the U.S. it's not difficult to be rich. If you want to be well off financially, you first have to learn the basic rules. (But, that's no different than anything else that you strive for -- the best players in any sport or endeavor, learned the basics first, applied them, practiced them, corrected for mistakes they made, and kept practicing and working on them according to the rules.)
You're right, here in the U.S. there are many taxes. But, with almost every tax, the government also make a way to avoid the tax. (That is not "evade" taxes but, "avoid taxes.") It takes some thinking; it takes some planning; and sometimes it takes some sacrificing (in the short term to come out better in the long term).
But yes, it is very definitely possible to be rich here. The opportunities are endless. |

Yes that is why there are more millionaires per capita in the US than any other country in the world. The rich are rich because if you have a good tax advisor, he or she will show you how to legally use tax loopholes to cut your taxes. Taking advantage of tax breaks, you can legally cut your taxes down 10%, 15%, or even 20% depending on the state you are in and your situation.
Only the uneducated actually pay gigantic taxes, the rich use tax loopholes (legally) to shield their money from taxes and pay less in tax. They use the savings to build more wealth quicker. |

USofA is only one of the richest countries in the world
think of the people in africa who pay taxes and dont get anything for them,
Dont complain, if you have a house, internet, food in the cuboard, tv, car, and a job. |

Well the Bush administration has been great at taxing the richest the least. The poor and middle-class are the ones that get to pay all those fun taxes.

Your level of wealth should increase as your level of savings and taxes increase...it's universal law.
If you create wealth and still act poor, hen you are poor.
THat's why rich people get a bad name when they act poor even though they have money. |

Becoming wealthy has nothing to do with the tax burden you will have.
It has everything to do with working hard, putting in the hours to build your company up and staying on top by never losing your drive.
People who want to be instantly rich are never going to be because they don't posses any of these qualities. |

Ohh, bad idea; The US is splitting the classes right now; Like a majority of the countries in the world There are going to be only two classes " Rich" and "Just Surviving." As for a job, get in line. |
