I believe anyone can deposit money into any account as long as they have the account number and routing number. As long as you don't mind your friend having your account number, it's perfectly safe. They will not let them withdraw funds without a pin, so you'll be fine unless you give them that. |

I think many people misunderstood the question.
if your friend owes you money; of course, it is possible for him to deposit his money into your ATM account. however, using the ATM machine requires you to provide your PIN number to him. so, he can actually take out your money as well as doing the deposit. it is not a wise thing for you to do. but you can give him your account number and ask him to transfer money from his account to yours at the counter. |

You would have to give your friend your password/pin, and I think that isn't safe unless someone has power of attorney over all of my assets. |

Not at all, unless you trust him totally. If he can deposit, then he can withdraw. Not a good idea. Just have him give you the money and you take care of your own deposits. |

My dad occasionally deposits money in my bank account for me, but he doesn't do it through an ATM. He goes into the bank and fills out a deposit slip. I'd trust my dad with my ATM, but I wouldn't trust my friend. |

not necessarily the safest thing to do but it is OK if you authorize it. if you all have a falling out the friend could remember your #s and wipe your account clean. |

it is possible. ur friend would need to go to ur bank with ur account number and tell the teller that he wishes to make a deposit into your account. as long as your friend has all of your information the bank will always take money. |

The short answer is no .
Why , you might be able to do it once , but the banks want everyone to have their own account so they can collect more account maintenance fees . They will ***** at you for doing this with checks , but cash would most likely not matter . |

just ask him to give you the money yourself. if your bank does or doesn't allow it. you dont want there to be a conflict and your friend take it out on you. |
